On November 7th the troop will be selling Poppies at many different locations.

Our Church needs help unloading pumpkins, this THURSDAY Oct 1 (updated 9/29 @ 8:38am)
Scouts, our Church has a big fundraiser every year where they sell a lot of pumpkins. This years shipment is scheduled to arrive this Thursday Oct 1 now at the church. They need our help to unload the pumpkins.
Please be at the Church by 3:30pm to help, if the day or time changes we’ll update the website so check back Wednesday afternoon to see if there is new info.

CAMPOUT Oct 9 & 10 in Smyrna!
Campout October 9 & 10
All, we are having a campout on Oct 9 & 10 here in Smyrna at the Guard Base. The focus of this campout is to work on some Orienteering skills, some of which are a First and Second Class requirement.
Sgt. Moser has gotten approval for us to use facilities at the Smyrna Guard base, very cool!
Here are all the details:
-Meet by 6pm Friday October 9th at the Smyrna Guard Base, just a little past at 8th ave and Weakly lane in Smyrna, meet at the BIG TANK on the left, the sign says “Tennessee Army National Guard Combined Support Maintenance Shop”.
Google maps says 393 Weakly Lane
-Scouts will camp in tents, so come prepared with your tent and all you need to camp overnight, don’t forget BUG SPRAY!
-Scouts need to eat dinner BEFORE arriving on Friday Oct 9th
-Saturday, Scouts will work on orienteering skills led by Sgt. Mosher and other skills that can be accomplished while camping out.
-Meals will be planned and prepared by Scouts led by Justice Treanor
-Scouts will be picked up by 3pm on Saturday October 10th.
-Mr. Brooks will be the Scoutmaster in attendance, Sgt. Mosher and Donna Treanor will also be attending.

DARE (Drug Awareness) September 28th Meeting
On September 28th, we will have a police officer coming to talk about drug awareness.
We will also have a pre-camp planning meeting for Fall-Camporee.
That night we also start the yearly planning.
REMEMBER: Meeting start at 6:30 sharp.

Stone Door Backpacking Trip
Hello All,
There is a backpacking trip coming up at Stone Door.
This a beginner to intermediate trip.
The crew going to Stone Door plans on leaving at 7:00am on Saturday the 19th and will return on Sunday the 20th around noon.

Popcorn Sign-Up
Hello Troop!
Boy Scout Popcorn Sales will be starting very soon! This is an opportunity for your Scout to sell popcorn & earn money for his Scout Account, to pay for Summer Camp or other Troop activities. The Show & Sell dates are when the Scouts (and Adults) will be setting up, outside of a Smyrna or Murfreesboro business, to sell popcorn.
A very important date for your calendar is: Monday, August 24th at 6:30pm during the Troop meeting. This meeting will include the Official Popcorn Kick-Off, as well as a Parent meeting. This is the chance for parents to learn how popcorn sales work, how to earn money, how to maximize the opportunities and to ask questions.
There are two Sign-Up Geniuses included. Please view both.
1. This sign up is for some needed supplies to make the Show & Sell locations run smoothly. Do you have a pop-up canopy or a table to loan to the troop? Would you be willing to help deliver some popcorn and help out the dedicated Co-Chairs?
2. This sign up is for the actual Show & Sell dates and locations at the various local businesses.

Cogioba MBU 2015
Cogioba is a merit badge university, scouts go to this event to work toward a certain merit badge(s).
Cogioba will be held on Saturday on November 21st.
Two parent volunteers or leaders will be required to stay for the MBU.
Adult training classes will also be held.

To help expedite check in, you can scan and email waivers or fax them to me at 931-553-0485.
What is provided: $15.00 per Scout, this fee includes lunch (choice of ham, turkey or veggie sandwich), a patch, and course materials. (Merit badge books and writing material will not be provided).
$5 per Adult Leader which also includes lunch. Be sure to select your lunch choice for each adult registered.
