Troop 422 Scouts/Leaders/Committee Members,

2012 Recharter is fast approaching. We will begin the process in October and hope to finish by the end of November. Anyone who plans to remain in Troop 422 as a Scout, Leader, or Committee Member will need to make sure dues are paid by then or have enough in your Scout account to cover the cost. More information will be following soon on costs. Dawn Jones, our treasurer, has a record of everyone’s accounts so you may see her at any troop meeting to get your information.

We’d like to encourage all Scouts to continue their scouting in 2012. The Boy Scouts of America is a tremendous organization to be a part of and can be very beneficial in the lives of these young men. I’d also like to encourage parents to get involved as well and help support our Scouts. We are always looking for help in some way, shape, or form. Please be an active role model for your young Scout and supportive of his troop. Without parent volunteers this troop could not exist. Please see myself or any leader if you would like to get more involved or have questions.

Lastly, and certainly not least, I would like to take a moment to introduce everyone to our new Scoutmaster for 2012, Scott Nodine, who was voted in at the last PLC meeting this month. Charles King will be stepping down at the end of this year after serving for the last 2-3 years. Scott has volunteered to take on this position and we are all very thankful for his decision to do so. Please thank him next time you see him and also thank Charles for his committment to the boys over the last few years! We’ve been very fortunate to have good leadership in Troop 422!

Yours in service,

Kevin King

Troop 422 Committee Chair
