On Wednesday, November 5, 2008, Justin Carter passed his Eagle Board of Review and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program. By achieving this rank, Justin joins the ranks of 1.7 million young men who have earned this honor since 1911. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase “Once an Eagle, always an Eagle”.
To earn this rank, Justin had to earn 21 merit badges, demonstrate Scout Sprit, provide leadership, and conduct an Eagle Leadership service project. For his service project, Justin led an effort to collect and distribute school supplies for needy children at the Fannie Battle Day Home for Children in Nashville. To demonstrate his leadership, Justin served as Senior Patrol Leader of the troop.
Justin is the thirty-first Eagle scout from Troop 422.
