Due to safety reasons (high water levels), we will not be able to canoe at Grimes this weekend and have changed our camping location to the Smyrna Air Base, where we will be assisting Alan Harrell with his Eagle project.
If you are currently signed up to attend, please note we will need to bring our own tents! (you may tent with a buddy) The Troop camp out checklist is attached.
If you are NOT currently signed up to attend but would like to earn service hours as well as get some camping nights in, please RSVP on Sign-up Genius by 5:00 pm tomorrow (Wednesday), in order to help with proper food purchasing.
If you are able to help with Alan’s Eagle project but can’t camp overnight, PLEASE STILL RESPOND ON THE SIGN-UP GENIUS, and in the comments state “lunch only” and the hours you are able to be there.
Saturday day-time activities/Eagle Project details:
The plan is that we will start at 8:00 in the morning and will be finishing at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. Scouts are welcome to come anytime throughout the day. If they can only come for an hour it will be greatly appreciated. If anyone has the following items and can bring them, that would be very helpful: weed-eater, chain saw, pole saw, pruners, gloves, or any yard equipment. Please be sure to dress appropriately (closed toe shoes, long pants) and be sure to use bug spray. Also lunch will be provided and there will be signs leading back to the cemetery.
The forecast this weekend looks ok, but we should plan for rain just in case. (Please pack the appropriate rain gear.)
