On Saturday, May 29th, 2010, the scouts and leaders of Troop 422 placed American flags on the graves of American soldiers at the Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna. The event, organized by Annette Stewart with the Smyrna city government, began with a flag presentation conducted by Rolling Thunder, followed by the singing of the national anthem by Mr. John Faulk. Harriet Howard spoke on the history of Memorial Day, and State Senator Jim Tracy gave a prayer. After the service, the scouts and leaders fanned out to place American flags, donated by local businesses, on the headstones of each known veteran in the cemetery.
