Christmas Tree Recycling Project – 2005

On Monday, December 26th, Saturday, December 31st, and Saturday, January 7th, Troop 422 collected Christmas trees to be used by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to create fish habitats in Percy Priest Lake.

Scouts and leaders worked at the VFW collection site, sorting out the usable Christmas trees. Trees that contained too much tinsel could not be used, and were sent to Stewartsboro to be mulched. Good trees were loaded onto the trucks and trailers to take to the TWRA. During the winter while the water level in Percy Priest is low, the TWRA will arrange the trees in the lake to create habitats for fishes.
